Questions from the quiet

Everything you might wonder before bringing a piece of the Showa era into your home.

About the Art

What is a "hand-drawn study"?

A hand-drawn study is a carefully rendered reproduction of iconic manga artwork, created by skilled artists using traditional ink and brush techniques on aged washi paper. Each piece captures the spirit and energy of the original Showa-era illustration while being a unique artwork in its own right. Think of it as a master craftsman's homage to a classic — not a mass-produced print, but a work made with patience and reverence.

Is this an original vintage manga page?

No — these are contemporary hand-drawn studies inspired by the visual language of Showa-era manga. We are transparent about this because authenticity matters. Each piece is clearly labeled as a "hand-drawn study" or "copy art" in its description. What we offer is the feeling of holding a vintage page: the texture of aged paper, the warmth of hand-applied ink, the weight of a moment preserved.

What materials are used?

Paper: Aged washi or high-quality manga paper with a natural cream tone and subtle fiber texture.
Ink: Traditional sumi ink and archival pigment liners.
Mat: Acid-free linen mat in warm ivory or natural beige.
Frame: Solid walnut or ash wood, hand-finished with natural oil (no lacquer).
Glazing: UV-protective acrylic with a breathing gap between art and glass.

What are the dimensions?

Most framed pieces measure approximately 16 × 20 inches (40 × 50 cm) including the frame. The visible artwork area is roughly 11 × 14 inches (28 × 35 cm). Exact dimensions are listed on each product page. We also offer custom sizing upon request — simply email us with your preferred dimensions.

Ordering & Shipping

How long will it take to receive my order?

Each piece is made to order and carefully framed by hand. Please allow 7–14 business days for production, plus shipping time. Shipping to the US and Europe typically takes 7–12 business days. You will receive a tracking number as soon as your piece is dispatched.

How is the artwork packaged?

We treat every piece as if it were traveling across decades. Each frame is wrapped in acid-free tissue, cushioned with biodegradable foam, and secured in a rigid double-walled cardboard box. The corners are reinforced with protective guards. We have shipped to over 30 countries — and so far, every piece has arrived intact.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes — we offer free worldwide shipping on all framed pieces. For unframed studies or bulk orders, shipping is calculated at checkout based on destination and weight.

Will I have to pay customs or import duties?

For orders shipped to the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Japan, all duties and taxes are included in the price — no surprises at your door. For other destinations, any import duties are the responsibility of the buyer.

Returns & Care

What is your return policy?

We want you to love your piece. If for any reason you are not satisfied, you may return it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund or exchange. The artwork must be returned in its original condition and packaging. Please note that custom-sized or personalized pieces cannot be returned. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless the item arrived damaged.

What if my piece arrives damaged?

Please inspect your package immediately upon arrival. If the frame or artwork is damaged, email us within 48 hours with photographs of the damage and the packaging. We will arrange a replacement at no cost to you. We insure every shipment, so you are fully protected.

How do I care for my framed artwork?

Keep it away from direct sunlight and high humidity. Dust the frame gently with a soft cloth — do not use sprays or cleaners near the artwork. The UV-protective acrylic can be cleaned with a microfiber cloth and a small amount of water. Because we leave a breathing gap between the art and the glass, the paper will naturally adjust to your room's climate. This is intentional, and part of the piece's living character.
